Only A Don Can. The DUNCAN MIGHTY Season.
Except you were born by the turn of this millennium, you must have grooved to at least one of Duncan Mighty‘s hit songs.
Trust me, when the Ikwere-born musician hit the limelight back in 2008, we were rocking to serial hits from his arsenal of monster jams. Back-to-back, Wene was dishing out tracks like “Obianuju” “Port-Harcourt 1st Son“, “Ako Na Uche“, “Dance For Me” and a host of others.
He took some while off creating songs, he went into contracts in Rivers state. Like most musicians know (I mean the naturals), you can’t leave music, it leaves you when it is all done.
The Duncan Revival
I’ll like to simply fast-forward to 2018 when his “music career” was supposedly revived by Wizkid in FAKE LOVE, Duncan has not looked back ever since. Not even for a moment. He has been on songs by Bracket, Lil Kesh, Tiwa Savage, DMW, Dj Neptune, Laaj, the list is long guys.
Online news medium, pulse.ng had advised him to slow down on his features, they feared the rejuvenated crown-jewel of Naija’s Afropop music might tire too soon.
It is now a decade since he dropped his debut album, KOLIWATER, he has since dropped four more studio albums: Ahamefuna (Legacy) (2010), Footprints (2012), Grace & Talent (2014), and The Certificate (2016).
Given the rate of musical features embarked upon by Duncan Mighty, some fans are of the opinion that he may face a burnout. They simply love the revival but also would like him to be choosy with his collaborations.
According to Ehis Ehunyon of Pulse.ng, Wene Mighty has been involved in a released track per week from July through September this year.
He advised that Wene slow down, so he does not dwindle the quality in his art. Some Tweeps were also in on this idea:
Duncan Mighty has to calm down on the Features, if he continues like this he"ll rush out of this fame. He should be selective with Features at least not every song he should jump on😒😒

Duncan Mighty should slow down, they are just about to rubbish him. This Aza has just got to be his wackest song ever. That Frog should have allowed only Peru and Duncan bang. He spoilt it with his random shouting up and down!!!

Personally, I don’t see how he could, he is a natural, Duncan Mighty had a brief spell on the sidelines yes, we know, but it was not due to a burnout. He got distracted.
It’s like implying that King Sunny Ade (no intended comparisons please) should not put out so many tracks because he will burn out. Even if he wants to, he SIMPLY cannot!
Absolutely! Christmas is around the corner, musicians are scrambling for shows and also dishing out songs in anticipation of the festive period.
Event organizers are tidying up loose ends, selling tickets on every available outlet/medium. Travelers are booking their tickets to avoid the December rush, thereby creating an artificial ‘RUSH’.
This is the season that street carnivals come alive the most, rave parties from corner to corner, award/gala nights etc. This is the season that Duncan Mighty will relish the most in his career.
The music maestro has given his fans and music lovers food for their ears to nibble on for the impending raves ahead. MIEKERASO has been served, it’s been trending on all radio stations, by the time the season sets in, in its finality, and DJs and OAPs start playing their best jams of 2018, I guess we know which artist will trend the most by then.
